Looking for a new heat exchanger for a 97'- are they all the same 94-98?

I just finished installing a 47re with a dpc triple, fresh rebuild, and sensors and solenoids.

The owner cooked the previous tranny. The forward drum was the only one with burnt frictions but there chunks falling out of the converter.

I tried flushing the coolers but I'm still finding chunks when I start the truck and let the return line run into a bucket.

I found a replacement cooler but finding a heat exchanger has been harder

I would assume they are the same but I have found a different part number for 94-96, 97+

I found a new exchanger with a decent price but it lists 94-96. With the price being 350$ before shipping I'd hate to order one that didn't fit.

The fittings are different and the mounting bracket is different.

Thank you. I'm going to call the Cummins dealer and see what they have

24V Exchanger's are different! I learned the hard way!

I ended up having the owner buy a new one from Cummins. Living in AK shipping can be spendy but Cummins will ship parts over night for 20$ though this piece was 40$ to ship due to its weight. I think the exchanger was a little over 400$

Have you tried flushing it out, its kinda a pain in the ass to remove it but I cant see what would let go inside to make it unusable. Mine's out now I back flushed it till it ran clear coming out , there's not much to it as I can see
