12v Max degree of injection timing

Finally finishing up the engine for my race truck... Once my runner intake shows up. Curious if someone can help me out with an estimate Max degrees if injection timing to keep the pattern in the bowl

Stock stroke
Large bowl 12v mahle pistons
Machine shop took .006 off the deck, and head
155* 5x25
With a .020 FR HG
13mm pump w/.093 lines

Looking for a starting point on where to time the pump, and a rough idea of Max timing before wiping out the rings

Why worry about keeping the spray pattern in the bowl when you can use the whole damn cylinder?

Low to mid 30’s should work good.

What turbo setup?

Depending on how the injectors are setup I would say 30-32 degrees to stay in the bowl

Max timing before having issues with the rings? Honestly just don’t touch the throttle when you’re starting it up for the first time. I would start at a MINIMUM of 25* max timing I’d say 38 ish for an all out power mode.

Sorry for the delayed response. Thanks guys. The injectors are 5x25 155* 260 bar I believe, would have to check.

Current turbo setup is a S467.7 over S488

When "Max timing" is exceeded, meaning outside of the bowl, what is the indication you've exceeded. Incomplete combustion, and excessive smoke?

Melted bowl edges, lol. JK Excessive smoke and egt's is really the main indicator.

Just think of the old 370 injectors that guys used to run, smokey as hell and high egt for the power made. You should not have an issue with the marine pistons if you start in the mid twenties and work your way up based on how it's responding. If you street drive it once you get up around 30 your definitely giving up streetability and low end response for power up top. 26 to 28 should make more than enough power up top for the street.

Thanks Gman. This truck won't be on the street at all. Lol knock on wood, no melted bowl edges, I used Cerakotes "piston coat" on these mahle large bowl pistons for some insurance.

I appreciate the input guys. I'll start mid twenties, and work up. Just waiting on my Runner intake and lines from Joker, and can drill the head, torque it down, and break it in. Hopefully shows up soon, truck hasn't moved all season
