2015 3.0 PPL Rules
Any one have a copy of the 2015 3.0 PPL rules or are they sticking with last years?
They aren't released yet. Everything was pretty much the same other then some clarifications. I spoke with John Meers a couple weeks ago. They are clarifying the hitch rule and head rule
Is it just me or did they just kick every truck in the country out of 3.0 class and the 2.6 class can run more of a cylinder head?
Depending on how they are interpreted you could be right. We need clarification on the clarifications

They read OEM head so that means no Brodix heads. And OEM intake manifold bolts. So no aftermarket intakes or cutting the side of the head of a Cummins head. No Hamilton heads. Most 2.5 rules allow a replacement style intake. And they are not allowing even that. Seems like a big mistake. Why do they change the rules anyway. Why not lock them in.
I read it as factory exhaust manifold bolt pattern dimensions, but it needs some clarification on what exactly they are talking about.

Factory exh bolt patteren
Oooof. That's a nasty addition.
Would also be nice if someone was to proof read before posting
Its my understanding that the current Hamilton head will be legal. The overall size of the heads can be no larger then a stock OEM head and that's for all makes and models. I spoke with our rep yesterday and they will confirm it after the holidays.

Do they(PPL) have this problem in every class or is it just the diesel trucks?

[QUOTE=DISTURBED;2396932]I've never heard of these issues with rules for our alky truck or the tractors that run our East Coast Series[/QUOTE
Guess we all know where we rank. |

I will say we were a bit of a outcast for the first couple years. This year East Coaat came to us and thanked us for putting on great shows at every event we went this year. I think in the beginning we were viewed as a fly by night class by the other classes. But we put a lot of butts in th seats every where we go. I've been doing this 25 years and it really does make you feel good when promoters appreciate what you do every week. We aren't out casts any more. But I can only speak for our East Coast PPL.
It probably isnt a problem in other classes because there is more equiptment for and a limited # of builders of the trucks. Only a few truck builders with money to have PPL do what they want
