Misconceptions of the Non Puller

The blog now features a story discussing some of the misconceptions of the sport and how I think we need to try to change the perception of the non pulling community! Thanks for your support of the blog and please feel free to share some of your thoughts on how we may be able to promote the sport further!

Great article. I "dig" what you're doing for our sport. I frequently have to explain what "truck pulling" is to people who literally have no idea what it is. You are absolutely correct in pointing out that it takes a real sacrifice and extreme dedication by people who strive to have a competitive pulling vehicle; whether it be a tractor or a truck. That is why I am infuriated by ignorant spectators who laugh or make fun of people that break their stuff of the track while trying to put on a good show for them.

Keep up the good work.

Ever been down the 1320?

Lostnwalmart 01-29-2013 02:21 PM

I have hooked before was fun but I like drag racing better. Also holy old thread bat man!

bigstacks95 01-29-2013 05:11 PM

I can't make up my mind, so I have one that goes 1320 and one that goes 300 (hopefully :lolly:)

oldblue116 01-29-2013 05:47 PM

I have never hooked before, but racing is in my blood. I'm not sure I would get the same rush pulling as I do racing. None the less I love watching/following it. But like stated, never done it.

I don't know what the 1320 is? If your asking if I've ever pulled, yes i have. Been pulling for two years now, 40 to 45 hooks, its a gaser me and dad built as a project. I have an 84 chevy with a 454 and 4 speed. We don't have the money to built a decent diesel and this is CompD so I never mention my chevy on here.

1320 is the quarter mile, I have shared this with a lot of people and now have the blog bookmarked on my computer. Keep up the good work.

There is 1,320 feet in a quarter mile..

Cross95 02-01-2013 09:19 AM

Oh ok, im not much of a drag racer. I've never done it and only been to a few, I'd rather watch 540+ inch engines goin 300 feet screamin 8500 the whole way lol.

oldblue116 02-01-2013 09:51 AM

Meh, doesn't do much for me.

Cross95 02-01-2013 11:42 PM

Really? I don't think I'ver ever heard anybody say that.

JasonCzerak 02-01-2013 11:48 PM

I'd rather run 120mph with out worrying about cops. Oh, and make more then one run ;)

Cross95 02-01-2013 11:52 PM

Pulloff? lol.

JasonCzerak 02-02-2013 12:01 AM

The problem with pulling is theres no good measuring stick to gauge progress. Theres more than driver error that'll make or break a pull. The danger level is "meh". The gasser class is obnoxiously unnecessary loud and the same trucks run every class.....if you sucked in the lighter class you'll suck in the heavier class..

oldblue116 02-02-2013 10:09 AM

Ahahaha he wants a pulloff. It is super boring compared to watching a twin trubo big block try to get down the race track. Like stated the danger factor isn't there either.
