Rule Changes for 2014?

I thought I read a little while back there was going to be a rules meeting on the 26th. Does any one have info on the new rules or when the rules meeting will take place? Specifically for 2.6 and 3.0.

DISTURBED 10-28-2013 04:09 AM

ramtough01 10-28-2013 11:05 AM

That can be as bad or worse than a "change"

I am curious to see what has changed also.

I am interested as well.

BluegrassDiesel 10-28-2013 01:24 PM

Nothing changed in 3.0 except added safety requirements. They want steel safety cables around the block and turbo.

2.6 they reworded some of the rules to eliminate some of the stock equipment. Will have to wait for the actual rule book to come out to be for sure.

EDP 10-28-2013 02:32 PM

2.6 was anything mentioned in regards towards the factory OEM based fuel injection specific?

Example: P Pumped 7.3 Powerstroke in 2.6

BluegrassDiesel 10-28-2013 02:58 PM

It was brought up. From what I understood it will be allowed. Limited to Ppump only. No sigma and 1 plunger per cylinder. Don't take that as the gospel truth, but that's what I got from it.

Sancrest 10-28-2013 05:14 PM

So I'm guessing nothing drastic like open drive line or SRW.

I wonder if they will go ahead and let everyone have solid suspension since most are that way already.... I've never understood factory attachment points and shocks when you can run bars down and make it solid anyway.

takedown95 11-05-2013 11:28 AM

Bump. Any other info?

cumins01 11-05-2013 12:32 PM

Hope nothing big changed, less money I'll have to spend LOL. And hope all the 3 pulling bodies I run with keep the newest PPL rules for 2014. Anyone know when the finial rules will be out?

nwpadmax 11-05-2013 01:27 PM

Call Haisleys and see what they say..... LOL

From my understanding at the rules meeting you wont have to run leaf springs or shock absorbers any more.

I thought everyone was pretty much on board for a 24" hitch height rule, but there was one guy that flipped his wig when we talked about it so it was just left alone. IMO it would help save a ring and pinion or two throughout the course of the season.

DISTURBED 11-05-2013 03:14 PM

Who was the guy who cried about dropping the hitch?

ClamDigger4 11-05-2013 04:02 PM

I would love to see 24" hitch next year

I wonder if they will allow welded rear suspension then or if they will still have a "must be bolted at one end or the other" or must retain factory suspension mounting points type wording?

I'd like to get started on my rear suspension but I'm waiting to hear the final word on ruling for next year.

BluegrassDiesel 11-05-2013 07:00 PM

I think youll be able to weld them in, but I wouldn't go doing anything to you suspension until the rules are written.

rawdog 11-06-2013 05:57 AM

And when will they be written?

AllCrankedUp 11-06-2013 10:04 AM

I believe they had them online in the middle of november last year. So hopefully soon

nwpadmax 11-06-2013 10:19 AM

24" hitch seems like such a no-brainer, can't believe it would be kept in the rules for one guy. Maybe he owns a ring & pinion company?
