No Savior among the flesh
Heading down to the Austin area later this coming Monday night/Tuesday morning to pick up a gem of a truck.
I'll have ~ 8 feet of bed space only, both ways, since I'll be utilizing a towbar for the return trip.

Feel free to peruse my For Sale ads, to see if I can move something heavy your way!

Made it down and back, met madmikeismad on the way back, for lunch and great conversation.
Thanks Mike!

The first pic is what I drove back, a 1998 2500, 12 valve, Q/C, longbed, 4wd.

The 2nd pic is what I rode down to get it, a 2005 Honda Reflex 250.
Yep! I got WET and I dried out several times. LOL

Mark.

Got to be honest Mark.....

I was surprised the sequence of the vehicles in operation....

The red thing looks very Austin-like.

You rode all the way to Austin on a SCOOTER ??? Lol !! Wish I could have seen that one Mark !

What's with the dissin' down on scooters?

It traveled the distance I wanted to, for around $50, which is under a quarter of what it took to drive it back in the bed of the truck it was used to retrieve.

I'd do it again in a heartbeat, but with a good raincoat this time. :D

Mark.

You are a madman.
Maybe I am! :thankyou2:

I have had the thing for almost a year, about 2 weeks ago a guy gave me a helmet, so I started riding it just over a week ago.
Started out with 2200 miles on the odometer, now it has 3375 miles on it.

I like to drive, and long distances have never really bothered me in a car or truck.
This is way more fun than either of those.

65 comfortably, 70 taxes it some.
I believe it needs a tune up and it's due for an oil change and air filter.

Mark.

Got one sitting in the garage here that will do 80 easy.

Seen people claim they'll do 80, but I'm betting that's flat out and won't maintain hills with a fat guy on board.
I've busted 75 on mine, but it doesn't like it.

I'd take another one, but it'd have to be cheap.
Mine was $500.

Mark.

Fat guys aren't good fence climbers, but they hold down bikes quite nicely. :)
Worst part is following tractor-trailers over 50 mph, tends to Jimmy you all over the place.
