Some have them some dont. Being a Cali truck I bet you have one. Look on the Passenger side if your engine between the turbo and the head. If you have one you should she this round thing about the size of a spray paint can. It should have a flange on the back of it leading down to the passenger side up pipe.

Yes you have a wastegate. All LB7s have them.

John Boy, Thanks for the help! I found the egr. I bought thi8s truck used the original owner did a few things to it. I am going to open it up to see if he hopefully installed the blocker plate. can you direct me to the waste gate? thanks again

hope that helps

Thanks malibu 795. May I ask why you removed it? Did you modify it? and did the banks big head waste gate help thanks!

turbo is actually blown in that picture..
when i blocked it i noticed incease turbo spool repsones... even notice at random time the truck just falls on its face? thats the egr opening up.. it bypasses exhaust that woul normally drive the turbo to the intake..

the butterfly flap in the intake horn i removed (two screws) egr cooler log completly removed.
i also replaced the up pipe with a 49 state up pipe.. with no egr riser.

banks big head yes... could be done for cheaper though.

Thanks for the info. U think there was any adverse effects on the turbo from the mod?

a heavier right foot maybe.............. other then that you are doing the same thing the 49 state truck already are doing. will need something to turn the egr code off with... or a finger stick

malibu,I hope your hair aint on fire down there and blowin smoke up here! in nor- cal. JK where did you come up with the down pipe will it bolt straight in?

nah my hair is pretty short... and not burnt...

scotts haluecainating again in the back of his parts store...:hehe:

actually got the pipe of guy trip@ socal diesel

im looking for the part number iirc it was 200 or so range

I removed all my egr crap. I made block off plates out of the original egr cooler flanges. I removed the egr valve and made a stainless blockoff plate. I removed the butterfly from the intake horn. I used EFI Live and put in a federal emissions OS.

okay so if I dont clear the code will performance suffer? Im not sure if it will limp anything or not. I have an edge juice. Any other way to remove the code if I dont have efi live?

It will just set an EGR insuffient flow code. I can't remember what number the code is. It will not limp or suffer performance wise. Here soon my vac pump and all those solenoids are gonna dissappear and belt will get changed.

Thats what I plan to do to. I just need to get rid off the codes soon... Sucks.

Someone told me the difference in fueling between the egr and non egr trucks is significant yet my truck runs harder than any other Ive been in... Did you notice a difference after you went to a non egr program?
