Well if anyone is interested I think I may have ironed out the issue a little. Set timing to 24 degrees and installed stock feed tubes. The engine still lopes some when cold, but after the engine and transmission warm up it hardly lopes at all. It might lope a few times when its dropped into gear or when you stop at a light, but then it smoothes out. I bet with a little looser torque converter the problem would go away completely.
