AHP Alphatig here. Had it for a year and a half now. Not a single issue. We use it almost daily. It handles everything we throw at it including a ton of cast aluminum welding. One thing to remember is that with any equipment the initial machine purchase is only part of the equation. You want different cups, gas lenses, tungsten assortments, rod assortments, gloves etc.. It all adds up so factor that in and make sure you double it. Personally I have a set of everything for aluminum specifically. It is a bit overkill but it is nice to have a "crappier" set of accessories for when you want to do some quick and dirty welding.

I love Miller machines and I am sure they are better but the ahp was bought in a pinch as a startup and I don't see any reason to replace it given it was around $700 to my door.
