Really weird thing started happening today...
I've decided to cruise up and down a long grade we have so try to log boost/drive pressures and tune the VGT a little. I have no problem from 0-60psi of boost (about 70psi of drive). So I cruise up the grade in OD and lean in on the throttle, get it to hover there at 60/70, then pushed on the throttle to go further and all of a sudden it was like I lifted off the pedal as fast as possible. Turbo surged like crazy and lost all boost. Thought I broke something bad or lost a v band clamp. Pulled over and checked everything, everything looked good and normal. Started it up and took off, boost and drive all looked normal as before. Went to the bottom of the grade again. Doing pretty much the same thing and again; woosh sound, lost of boost, and compressor surge all at the same time after I went to jump about 60-65psi of boost. Let my foot completely off the pedal, slowed down, then got back on it and everything is normal...
On the way back to the shop I did a pull down the flat stretch and it repeated the same thing! What the heck is going on?
