Thanks for the advice on the rods that had not crossed our minds yet and on the rings too. Does the piston wear and damage look like rings butting to you or pistons scrubbing because of ptw clearance. We have been learning towards the ptw clearance being the culprit just from what it looks like but we didn't think we were at the level to need more than 8 thou yet. Is it possible that the Japanese rod could not handle it and the other cylinder and pistons being damaged is because that one was failing?
