New 6.70/5.90 drag truck build.

Look up Innovative Machining Solutions. He's building billet alum brake setups for the aam's. Drops over 100lbs per axle and can clear 15" wheels.

I have looked into them, they are cool but they are out of my budget. I also just bought new wheels and tires, so I’m not in a hurry to change again.

Last I looked they were $1200 for the rear axle setup. If the Dana 60 works out I could potentially drop 200-250lbs for about $500 including a new ring and pinion, then sell my current axle to recoup or make money on the swap.

I dropped about 30lbs off the front axle using these brackets, and my coilover height and links will be adjustable.

I gutted the back of the cage some more, dropped about 30lbs there and started on the cage.

nothing like a good ol' build thread!

I like what you did with the brackets on the axle. I haven't seen that done on the front before...

Yessir, I am a big fan of build threads. Hopefully it inspires others to build some race trucks and come out to compete.

Not much has happened the last few days, just got my new fat output swapped in the OD section for my current race truck.

I put my trans back together inside of the trailer on the 03 (not much fun). But it should be ready for some local races.

I also got the back glass out of the new truck, and cleaned up the rear axle. I am going to keep the AAM rear until I can figure something out for a lighter option then just swap it in.

The 4-link kit for the rear should be here tomorrow from Firepunk, so then I can start on the back half of the truck and really start making it look like a vehicle again.

Started on the back half last night. I am trying to get some time off work to really hit this thing hard and make some progress.
