DEF in the diesel tank!?

A friend of mine has replaced three brand new, fleet duramaxs because drivers filled the fuel tank with DEF.

I refuse to buy DEF in bulk for this reason, and we don't use that much of it.

Google some pics of what def turns into when introduced to the fuel system.
It's ugly...and expensive.
Luckily as mentioned insurance will cover the bill.
I know on the 6.7 Fords a friend with a big repair shop here in Houston told me as low as he can get the price and not lose money is $10K.
The crap is bad enough that if you put it in the tank, catch it and even key on the truck to move it without starting it it'll creep into the system and screw the whole thing.

Gas trucks? That's way out in stupidville.

Very much out in stupidville. Oil field hands that don't give 2 chits about the company truck. They just pull up and grab a nozzle an fill it up. Same company that uses the floorboard of a laramie longhorn as a spitter for their chew.
