Cab's off, engine and trans coming out this evening.

Sad thing is, the fire started due to a front driveshaft issue, or a transfer case issue, it appears. :(

Still have rolling chassis, with both axles, will sell with wheels and crappy tires for $2750.

Also have the lightly burned longblock, minus injectors, $1900.

Damaged transfer case, still has a good main shaft and fixed yoke, $250.

4500/5500 front tow hooks, very beefy pieces, $150 SHIPPED for the pair.

Guess it's remains are going into the iron, too. :(
I figured the axles would be a good seller on this thing, but not so much as a nibble, much less an actual offer.

I’d be interested in the axles for an off road project, but I’m sure you want more then scrap price

I know the alternators have been known to fail and cause fires.....is there something else that is known to start on fire?

I hear later ones have fuel heaters that cause fires.
Also, some later trucks have a recall out on the water pumps.
Apparently they also catch fire that way.

Jesus these trucks are fire hazards! Yeah I'm on my 3rd or 4th water pump! I lost count only at 100K miles to. My alternator started billowing smoke one day while sitting in traffic. Fortunately I have the right tools to unhook it on the side of the road.
