Life's too short to drive an ugly truck
Totaly agree we make good money. Up here so I like to spend it on nice iron. And image is everything. And when I was very young I dreamed of that truck worked many years to get where I am and it would of been hand washed. But I had a family get together. Down south so it sits in the shop dirty.

Dad said we used to have a b-61 for moving trailers around the farm back in the 80s. Twin stick trans. I REALLY want to find one and have a twin stick and a 2 stroke Detroit.

The black one is a twin stick but a Thermodyne. I am trying to talk him out of it but i dont see that happening. He also has a 74 peterbilt with a 8v92 and a 13 speed that I have been after for years. A few pages back i posted my old 77 359 I bought from him.

Swamp those are super nice rigs. Seems like that design is far more aerodynamic than today's. Wonder why they switched to the ugly boxes of today.

They needed all the aerodynamics they could get back then when they had the same HP as a lawnmower.

Anyone ever built a hood lift/opener for their truck, I have been think about maybe trying to put one together, and was wondering where you took some measurements from to figure out the cylinder throw length.

My 359 exhd came with factory air assist.

I didn't know that they offered that, I know jones hood sells the hood express kit for $500, I was thinking one could maybe be built for a little less.

Mine had a dead cylinder and I bent the rod on the other one when I smoked a doe, I've been looking for a pair for about 5 years. A buddy of mine had a set and sold them 2 days before I called him :banghead: he said he'd had them for 20 years :banghead::banghead:

I was post earlier about how hard they are to find. They are made from unobtanium!
