Just a quick update on our land speed racing escapades ,the Salty Box Racing 2008 Dodge truck managed 204.6 mph on the Bonneville Salt Flats this week, a new personal best plus it qualified us for the record. Unfortunately after the run we found that the motor was hurt so no backup run to seal the deal.

Very cool! You almost got one of those very coveted hats. What's hurt in the motor?

The salt was pretty slick ,made for a squirrelly ride and I took my eye off the egt Guage for too long, ended up scuffing a piston or two. I should be finished pulling the motor out this evening ,see what's up.

Awesome. Time for some water injection so you can keep your eyes on the sand.

Tim, how warm did it get when you hurt the engine? EGT? Coolant Temp? Engine Oil Temp?

Congratulations, Tim.

I think we all knew that your truck could run over 200, but no one wanted to "jinx" you by saying it.

I scuffed a piston at Bonneville this year as well. I hope yours was not quite as "scuffed" as mine....
