Opie Bypass parts?

I have an opie bypass from a few years back I am planning to put on my truck.

The bad news is that I procrastinated and now have a rear freeze plug that is MIA. Should I just install one of the plates that bolts into the back of the block and covers the hole for this up or is that not a smart idea?

I also realize now that I need a coolant bypass to prevent future issues. I have the main block piece and bracket from the Opie kit. Are the hoses and other fittings available readily? Is there a reason to stay with the braided ones over rubber hoses?

I have the Opie kit on my truck.
I used the block off plate on the back of the block, no problems.
I would mount parts you have, take my measurements go to any
hydraulic shop and make lines.
Or cheap route barb fittings and rubber hose.

Do you run the blank block off on the rear or one with the threaded hole in the middle?

Thanks for the info!
