Going rate for turn-key fummins

Found a lariat f450 with a p-pump 24 valve and 47rh, he351, 4ks, 181s and stock 24v injectors. 150k miles on truck, needs a AC line made and maybe slight timing adjustment made, obd2 port and tach works.
Granted it's 2wd and 1,300 miles away, but he's looking to sell it for $14,000

Seem like a good deal?

Seems high, saw one in WV sold for $10,000. 2005 F250 4WD 12v, 5R100, CCLB. I shoulda snatched it up. I mean the part of the price is the $1500-2000 in adapter plates and stuff. Not to mention trans control and hoses, etc. So with a 47RH you have almost none of that cost and many would say a undesirable transmission.

Do you have facebook? Fummins page has them for sale all the time. However turn key on there means EVERYTHING works perfectly. Lots of stuff sells cheap needing the small stuff.

Ebay had a 2008-2010 with a 6.7 Cummins, 5R110, F350 DRW 4WD King Ranch for $28,000 in Canada. A 2004 F450 with a flatbed just sold on ebay with a ZF6, VE 12v, 19.5 wheels, 4WD and a little bit of rust starting for $12,500 I think.

Hope that helps. I wouldn't think a 2WD F450 with a 47RH would be over $10000. A 2WD roller is worth $5000 maybe? Add $325 motor mounts, a cummins motor and trans, do the driveshafts... I don't see $14,000.

When I spoke with DCS about building one out of a 08-10 , assuming I would stay with the 5r auto, complete parts through them would start at $5,000

I'd have to find a motor and rebuild it before installing it for ease of mind.

I do have a nv4500 and 241 tcase sitting in my shed too
 
From what I have seen ALOT of 5R110 builds sell cheap cause no one can get them to work 100% with a Cummins. I wish they would because they are great behind a powerstroke. If you want to tow I would stick it. The 47RH might not be bad if you didn't want to tow much, I never liked my 47RE towing.

The swap kits are not cheap. But you can save a little here and there buying used.
 
Sold mine for 24K with 2 spare motors , T-Case, and extra trans, 2 sets of wheels and misc parts.100% complete
 
Wasn't a truck but sold my 2000 Excursion with a 12v/4r100 combo with about 30,000 miles on the build for 9k. Was happy with that. Some of these guys thing because they have a Cummins in them there worth gold. To me there like anything that's modify they go down in price.

I'm looking at building another one except in a f350 with a 12v and zf6 just haven't found the right donar truck yet.
 
That combo in an excursion sounds pretty fun.

I keep looking in CL for a 08+ with a bad motor. They still usually want atleast 10k for a lariat. For simplicity I'd run my nv4500 if the truck was a zf6
 
I paid 1500 for the X with a blown motor and later found transmission. Paid 2300 for a rebuilt 12v, 500 for a PCS to control the transmission, and 1500 for a slightly used Ford HD 4r100. Built everything else myself. Was a fun truck, but wife wanted something quiter so we end up buying a suburban. Being that I already had a f350 7.3 I had to get rid of one, I need the truck bed so the X had togo. To this day almost 4yrs later I still miss that truck, it was fun to drive and fast for what it was. I wouldn't be against a nv4500 if I could find a complete donor truck. Only reason I would do ZF is if the truck I was doing the swap into came with it. I will say there was always something that need fixing. I think by the time I sold it I had most of it lined out but it took time.
 
I sold my 01 F-350 12V for $6,500 which I surely had over 10K+ invested. It was a happy but sad moment to sell it. I couldn't stand constantly throwing money at it, it was always some little problem I was chasing. It was my first diesel truck I every owned bought it new in 2001 and nearly cried selling it. But it seemed like every problem I fixed had another one waiting to fail.

I just want a reliable truck I can get in and drive with no issues. I feel that doing cummins conversions wouldn't let me enjoy the truck as much since it's a ton of upkeep. Maybe other people had better luck with their builds.

I am itching to build another though! !

When I sold it, it was drive-able. BUT the dual electric radiator fans quit working or worked when they wanted to.
The tappet cover started to leak pretty bad
The power steering pump was leaking bad
Front timing cover had started to leak and I believe front & rear crank seals were leaking. So it would leave a fist size oil stain over night on the driveway.
Door locks and electric windows had failed
I did a NV4500 swap and the clutch pedal (factory ford pedal with southbend dodge hydraulics) was so high up that the pedal nearly touched the fuse panel cover.....never got around to fixing that.
Never hooked up the A/C which sucked because I'm in the south where its 90*+ for 80 days straight.
The airdog fuel system had quit working 3 times in 2 years and had failed AGAIN at the time of the sale
Even with new batteries when the motor would crank slowly on the first start of the day

I'm sure I had more gremlins to fix that I forgot about. I work 60-80 hours a week and it got OLD quick working on the truck several times a month along with all the other equipment I have to work on to keep my landscaping business going.

This is why I think hard about a F350 Fummins project [12v/Allison] or just buying a higher mile 4th gen 3500 Cummins. I work too much to keep up on the little stuff. It's also the main reason the Excursion still has a powerstroke.
