gas tank

I'm putting a 12v in a super duty ford that was a 5.4 gas truck. Do i just need to clean gas tank out good ? Do I need to swap the sending unit from a diesel truck ? Just looking for someone who has gone through this to see if I'm forgetting something. Thanks !

I would use the same sending unit, put in a draw straw, disconnect the stock intank pump (if it has one), then dry it out and leave it open for a few days.

what he said just dont use the sending unit to pull through i did this and it get real frikin cold here well the bag on the end froze up twice on me and left me straded
