2016 NHRDA schedule is out. Go to the NHRDA websire to check it out. Only thing new this year is a race at Wild Horse Pass south of Phoenix on April 30th, no race in Bakersfield this year.

April 15-16, Texas (Ennis)
April 30, Wild Horse Pass (Chandler AZ)
May 21, Tulsa OK
June 3-4, Denver Co
July 9, Madison Ill
July 23, Woodburn OR
August 6, Edmonton, AB
August 19-20, Billings, MT
Sept 30-Oct 1, World Finals, Ennis TX

I think the biggest problem with the races at the eastern tracks was iffy weather and very poor turnout. I'm actually surprised that a couple of these are still on the schedule.

Not enough events near Colorado I always thought.

If my race schedule depends on in state races I'd have very few to attend. But having none on the whole east coast is much harder to deal with as a race team.

I really enjoyed outlaw events, so hopefully they will have plenty out this way.

I attended the NHRDA at zmax in Charlotte NC a few years back and there was not very many people there at all.

I remember something happened that we couldn't make it last year. Really frustrating to have an event like that 2 hrs from the house and not be able to make it. We will be there this year dang it.

Everyone is saying east coast events don't have good turn out but the Truckin Nationals at Raceway Park Englishtown NJ had more people then I've ever seen at any type of racing/show event. They had to use their other tracks as parking, stands on both sides of the track were packed to capacity while the show sections were still packed with more people. I'd love to know the head count at that event.

Believe it or not that is Englishtown's highest grossing event. It even beats out their national events. I think that says something about the attendance.

Maryland and Virginia had huge diesel events when their diesel events rolled around. I remember it being packed when I went.

Well the poor turnouts for the NHRDA events on the east coast may be caused by a number if things. I suspect because it is an organization that is located in the Northwest those events didn't get the exposure and hype as a locally sponsored events. Most of the well attended events are once a year event with a different title sponsor at each of them. Rudy has two events but the others are a single event. I think the Outlaw series is a good thing, I personally would love to see it get better exposure and have both TV and published results like the NHRDA events are. Another factor is the size of the payouts. That has been a bone of contention with some racers for sure.

I certainly wouldn't say the NHRDA events that still exist pack the stands, but the turnouts in Texas, Edmonton, Billings and Denver draw very well. The others not as well, but hopefully they will grow. I do expect a good turnout in Phoenix, the race that use to be held north of Phoenix at Speedworld was always a great show and good turnout before the county shut it down. It's too bad that the Bakersfield race was canceled it was a good turnout as well. They wanted too much money to rent the track is the reason that race was canceled.
