Battery charger/tender

What is everyone using to keep batteries charged throughout the week in between sled pulls? Just put 2 new group 31 950 cca deka batteries in with no alternator. Looking for a good charger I can hook up and forget for the week and keep these things in good shape. C-tek was the only brand that came to mine.
Thanks

Not a sled puller but I have had great luck with the Optima charger, it’s pricey but keeps all my toys charged for months during the summer

I don’t pull either. But have both an AutoMeter and Schumacher trickle charger/maintainer. Both have a de-sulfating function with indicator lights for the state it’s currently in.
Also used to maintain the batteries in my 05 while being worked on for 3.5 years. Only hooked the charger to one battery and it maintained the float charge on both.

They work great! $35-$50 a few years back when I made the purchase.

Not the same use as you but same needs. My horse trailer has two group 31’s. I get them to full charge with a Schumaker charger and then maintain charge in between use with a Battery Tender Plus. It will keep them in the 95-100% charge range for months

You could use an onboard charger made for boat use. Most of the smaller ones charge at 5amps then go to a maintain mode after that and are made to be left plugged in. They are also waterproof if that means anything. We've had good luck with the Minn Kota brand for the cheap chargers. I use one on my drag truck and just plug it in a couple days before I run the truck.

I have a battery tender brand set up for 2 batterys on mine mounted in my weight box with cord hanging out side it. So when get home run a cord plug it in and forget it.

Basically what I’m looking to do. Batteries are in weight box and I have jumper studs mounted on the outside so pretty simple hook ups.

Thanks for the replies I’ll look into what’s been mentioned.

Another advantage to the marine chargers is they're tough and waterproof, if you want to leave it mounted in the box. Made to take the abuse of bass boats bouncing around. They also have them specific for gell cell batterys. About $150 buys a good charger.

Ctek is hit or miss from what I've been reading. They literally have no customer support. A buddy has kept a optima charger on his for 5 plus years and the single battery is still kicking for as little as it's drove.

Thanks for all the feedback. Going to give the Schumacher 1.5A battery tender a try since I found it on Amazon Prime.
