As far as pump, the 48re pump's flow more, due to their bigger displacement 10 lobe pump gear and "ported" vanes with better entrance and exit ramps. I typically see a 10 psi line pressure increase going from a 47re pump to a 48re pump with all else being equal, not huge, but a difference none-the-less.

Is that why the 48's lock up as soon as you flip the switch and 47's have a short delay? Because of the gained flow of the pump? Or is there a way to shorted up the time delay between switch and lockup? I thought buying a built
VB would fix it, then I thought buying a fully built trans would fix it. Now I'm convinced a 48re is the only way, but I could definitely be wrong!
