Budget Beater!
I hit the track and the dyno a few weeks back for the first time with the Budget Beater. Its a 94 2wd reg cab long box automatic that i picked up for $3200. so far i have put around 700 bucks into it and have been pretty happy with its results. Truck was completely stock except for and AFE intake when i bought it. So far i have added 4kgsk, rack plug, lockup switch, 191 dv's, no plate, 60lb springs, HE351cw, 4in exhaust to 6in stack, 16*, and AFC has been tuned by me. Truck layed down 332hp and 724tq. After the dyno i headed to the track and was able to make three runs. first run i ran a 14.7 @ 88mph w/ OD off and was maxed out in 3rd gear. second run i spun off the line pretty bad and ran a 16.3 @ 93mph w/ OD on. the third and final run i made was the best but still not the best it can do. I ran a 14.5 @ 94mph w/ OD on. The truck with OD on has almost no third gear and shifts to 4th very quickly and slows me down a bit. Next time at the track i will run with OD off and take full advantage of third gear then puch the little button and let 4th kick in and hopefully shoot me into the 13's. here is my time slip of the best run i made.
