There's a lot of fuel in those little pumps, but they get to a place where they're finicky and cost a lot for just a little more making the P7100 a better option. With it's dynamic timing the VE makes a better setup for lower power levels. You can achieve mileage and off idle driveability that's difficult for the P7100 to match.
A 250HP 4B in a <6000 pound vehicle is a pretty fun ride.
