if I can't drag... I'll pull

I've been rained out of more than enough drag races so I had to get my fun on where I could. What do you think..... any chance to place in a all out sled pull even though it's not set up to pull

Thanks.... second out of three of us. The other 2 trucks were built, dedicated pullers.

If I keep it up.... I'll have to add some goodies for pulling. Drag races are so few and far between anymore, I had to do something :-)

you're gonna get beat up man Many would think the same about trying to drag race a 8000lbs truck too. Do worry man, you'll be hooked to a sled before you know it. Once you do.... you're hooked just like you got the fever for drag racing. IMO, it's easier on the truck than dragging.

We talked Billy Ram into pulling and his first time out almost made a full pull. When he came back across the scale.... he had a ear to ear grin that lasted quite a while it's pretty fun Swole.

Ty, If you set the truck up to pull (Ballast,Hitch placment,Stops,tires and a few other tricks) you could be very competitve. Did you lock the TC? If not then that help big time. You'd be surprised How well your truck would do. A 750hp+ 2.6 truck Will do very well!

After watching it again it looks as though you did not lock it. Oh and a set of traction bars would also help

I believe that was the first pass and I just left it in drive. I also ran in 4 hi cause my truck won't go into 4 lo.... somethings wrong with the electronic shift module. The rest of the passes I ran in second gear/4 hi. I'm pretty sure it locked. It does it by itself if I don't... just takes a little longer.

Problem is... I run dual pumps and will have a second turbo at some point so anything other than outlaw won't work for my truck. I had traction bars on it for a while but, they broke. When I took them off, I was 2/10th quicker at the track so I didn't get another set.

Drag racing seems to be on shaky ground anymore so I will be doing some mods to the truck to accommodate pulling too. I still prefer to drag but.... if I can do both, even better :-)

wow ! right you are. It's almost touching the front of the wheel well. That's probably the reason my carrier bearing is broke for the third time now . Maybe it was a good thing the carrier bearing gave instead of the axle.

Yeah, I'd say if I do anymore pulling, it will be with some bars attached

TY,

That is exactly how my truck looked pulling with no bars last year(were not allowed) I destroyed my carrier bearing as well.I also twisted an axle tube and my right rear did rub on the front of the wheel well.

I'm in the process of building some bars now then some loopes and shields.

you set that thing up for pulling and you would defiantly be a contender in the 2.6 class!

That was a good clean pull, now you just have to lower it back down, get 4 low working, bars and loops.

what hp? iam running a 6spd and everything else is the same as yours. i just built a set of 85" bars for mine. and iam also thinking about dropping my truck back to stock height and running 33's instead of the 37's but i love the stance both of our trucks have at this time so ill prolly just set it up to pull like it is. might look at my new dyno graph on the smarty defuel thread

750hp+ I have a little more done to my truck than you do though. My truck doesn't have a defueling issue either. I'm gonna be leaving my truck sit the way it does..... for a while anyway. Getting yourself a lower center of gravity it likely the better set up though.

It should measure 2.6,but some do and some don't pass the 2.6 slug test.

66mm = 2.6

71mm = 2.8
