The Rebuild.

7/9/2010 - cut all backhalf frame cross members. The frame jumped 3/8" when the stress was relieved from the last one.

7/16/2010 - It had been a long day. At least we knew the 32x14's would almost fit between the new frame rails. It's currently running a set of 29.5x13.5's MT ET Drag slicks.

7/17/2010 - UPS shows up with Strange 40spline axles and big Ford bearings. We reinstalled the bed frame and locate the new weight bracket.

7/18/2010 to 7/23/2010 - Everything is a blur with some of the firepunk team working 26 hours straight on the s10. Unfortunately we don't have a staff photographer, so no pics. Also, no one grabbed the camera to take pics at TS either. We also found the HC5A had eaten its thrust bearing and Jason@HRT helped fabricate the twins piping needed for the replacement s491 (loaned from Chris Mayer).

Any idea how much weight difference there will be?

Good looking job on the fab work, ya'll got some stuff did!

I was over at the place where I store the truck & trailer to charge the battery for tomorrow night so I snapped a pic. I keep forgetting- Lance (Sonic Superduty) was down thursday/friday and then helped in the pits all weekend with very little sleep. Thanks Lance!

Billy it can take up to ~520lbs off the rear, but hten I can't get any weight to transfer. MDW @ Hotrod Diesels has been coaching me on setup. I'm very grateful.

I'm not sure what I was doing was called fabricating.... I just ground the **** out of things until they fit and then cut pipes until they kinda lined up...... but your welcome anyway.

Looking good.
If it doesn't work, I don't know you :lolly:

Wait a sec, you had this window licker helping you??? :poke: :poke:

It's either going to work like the dickens or break in half! LOL LOL

looking good Brandon. Another charger borrowed from Chris.LOL

Looks good! One thing - is there something positive holding those suitcase weights down?

One thing to keep in mind on ballast - think of the dynamic response, and think of the mass as resistance to acceleration. You can put weight far to the rear and low yet hurt the dynamic weight transfer as truck accelerates. Mass that is below the axle will dynamically counteract the front of the chassis lifting. It may still help since the static weight distribution is moved so far to the rear, but it won't plant the tires quite as hard as the same mass could have.

Regards,
Michael Pliska

the suitcase weights are bolted in place... I think I remember welding those at 4am before TS.
