GT55 Exhaust Housing

Looking for a Garett GT55 divided exhaust housing. I currently have a 1.00 a/r undivinded exhaust housing. Looking for something like a 1.12 a/r or a 1.24 a/r.

Running it on a mechanical caterpillar 3406, with a factory pump maxed out, 100% over nozzles and the air fuel ratio controller eliminated, turning 2700 rpm at high idle.

Not sure on the actual part number but I do know we machine them to fit the GT55 turbine wheel. We have our own made up part number we use for them to include the machining and everything. I have around 50 of them I think

What’s the purpose of going this route versus the stock caterpillar application 1.37 divided?

The 408804-0034 is the 1.37 A/R Garrett TV series turbine housing (110mm/97mm) , CAT P/N (9N2032), GT55 turbine is (112/102) which means it needs work to fit.

Perhaps you misunderstood, there is a GT55 1.37 that cat uses.

It’s clear now! is there only 1 a/r available or is there other options?

I believe there is also a 1.58, but nothing smaller.

For that you would have to look at Cummins and Detroit apps, there is a 1.18 divided with internal gate that they use.

Will they all fit the GT55 frame and wheel or do they all need machining to fit correctly?

Which option do you suggest? How do you think the 1.37 a/r will hold up on my set up?

The cat part number is 183-6629, I have no idea what that would cross to in a garrett part number.

I am a fan of the 1.18, it was very comparable to a 1.65 S400.

Will this fit the factory Garrett GT55 or will it need machining as mentioned above?

Yes, it is an actual GT55 housing.
