popping over 3000 rpm's

I haven't rode in it but my brother in law has a 95 that just started popping some over 3000 rpm's. It has around 300,000 miles on the stock injectors. I was thinking maybe he has some injectors getting weak. It never did this before. Typical mods, plate timing gov springs barrels maxed. Am I thinking right?

Check the overflow valve, if it for sure didnt do it before. Low timing will make them pop also.

Timing is around 18 degrees. He has had this truck for several years the way it is. I hadn't thought of low fuel pressure but it doesn't lay down like mine does with low pressure. That's why I was thinking a injector tripping wrong. Could it be valve springs? It has stock springs on it.

My guess is timing has slipped or fuel pressure is low.

Still pulls real hard and doesn't clean up smoke with the he351. I have had timing slip before I'm sure that is not it. I'm leaning toward valve springs getting weak. He is going to take it easy on it till warm weather.
