I’m not sure on this. It feels good. It pulls good. Compared to my 12v it’s a super stock rig haha. And having 4.30s I get up to speed like right now then it kinda just stops anyways. Pulls well beyond 3000 rpm, it just doesn’t build boost and it gets hot, I hit 1500 the other day getting on the on-ramp loaded with my trailer. Still even loaded, won’t go past 20psi

Any chance you wired the gate open instead of shut? I know a guy who did that once.

^^We must know the same guy.

I do agree with Jason. You should be able to hit 40psi no problem on that charger. My basically stock 05 CR can nail 40psi on stock charger with a junky smarty tune. Pull that turbo off and inspect.

I was up around 50. But yes.. dawn dish soap and a spray bottle and I soaked everything that had potential to have any kind of boost.

Ok.. so I disconnected the pressure line to the wastegate.. I’m building more boost. I think I seen 30 psi today.. I was loaded to 26k and I never seen my egts over 1250z it wasn’t a sustained pull but it never reached 1300 even in overdrive with converter locked..its building boost a lot better but still not 40+ psi like I’ve heard mention of here.. with all this said would it be ok to just run it like this and let the back pressure open gate? I have a guy with a turbine housing for sale it’s a 14cm gated. Would it be worth it. ?

No stay with what you have, just make sure to tighten the gate.

Your setup doesn't sound like it needs a gate. If you could total seal it now you'd love it.

Don't run the pressure line, and tighten the preload on it from there more. Try your best to hold it shut

Ok.. back pressure shouldn’t ever be an issue with the 12cm is what your saying? I tightened it 5 turns as it sits now. I’ll see what I can do for tightening more

From what you describe, welding it shut would be best. Just tighten the preload as tight as you can and see how it runs. If your not pushing that charger to low 40's something's wrong or its weak.

Nowhere near a back pressure issue

If you were pushing that charger to like 55psi, then you'd have a backpressure issue.
