know anything about the newer detroit/mb turbos?

I'm talking about these:

http://turbocentras.com/turbo-vehicle-engine/OM471LA

From what I can gather borg warner made them for detroit for a few years, now mercedes makes them and detroit "assembles" them for the NA market. From what I can gather:

- axial flow turbine
- asymmetrical exhaust housing (two sides have different a/r)
- there's some sort of flap that directs exhaust flow between the two sides
- detroit claims pretty decent mpg gains, although this isn't the only piece
- they run about 2400 Canadian

Problem is you pop open a dd13/dd15 and there's a huge heat shield covering everything up. You can't even tell if it's a t6 flange.

Does anyone have any specs or compressor maps for these?

No it is not a T6 and it's a POS. Replace them on the DD's all the time.

Lol that's a good one too. Are they borg warner, Mercedes, or detroit diesel "assembled in the usa" units that break?

Wow really that's likely why they haven't released an updated version of the 96mm. I bet they were banking on this being it. Poor truckers being used as test mules.

They are asymmetrical because they are made to take EGR flow only from 3 cylinders. And they hold fine, no breakage I know of..

But you dont want to use them in any other application.
