Issues with transfercase!

Has anyone had any issues with the transfer case in their truck? Seems as if the chain is jumping over the sprocket. It's making a terrible racket!
It might have been used 20 times over the 115xxx miles on the truck.
FYI 07 3500 6.7 G56
Thanks in Advance.
William

Dump the ATF & fill it with decent lube.

Any thing would be better than ATF. I would say some form of gear oil, if it'll work in the cutter bar on hay mowers, then it will work in a T-case.
