rocker shaft galling

how picky would you be about rocker shafts, I have a couple that show signs that they are starting to gall. I have some better ones off a parts motor, but they're not perfect either. don't want to mill them for headstuds if they're not useable. if its just a tiny mark, can you polish it and run it? can you get parts or just have to get a whole new assembly?
I'm ready to torque the head on as soon as I figure this out.

Assuming this is a 2v setup. Make sure your oil passages are clean&clear (including the head bolt holes) make sure the rocker and stand are both true, if so clean it up and party on. Manton sells a scotch pad on a shank to clean the arms.
