Pintle hooks vs. Lunette rings

Just wondering which would be better for a pulling hitch? I see most of us are using a HD style lunette ring but I have seen some nice pintle hooks as well.http://www.etrailer.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=E&Product_Code=63014&Category_Code=P
Could these be used also or are the lunette rings more ideal?

Lunette ring is better, biggest thing is that it is a solid ring.

Most rules say the ring has to be horizontal not vertical.:rules:
