I can show ya how to make them or I can fab a set up cheap. You would need to weld a mounting tab to the frame. You could also head over to Karl's shop, I know he's built a set before. He helped me with the design idea.

I'll even sell you the kit from Jegs BNIB that I assume Brandon is talking about as I plan to go a different route. After seeing what you did Brandon, I bought mine. I don't have the resources you obviously do though so I'm gonna dump a little more cash.

Steve, from what I have gathered this past year when I built mine for sled pulling, there are a few places that will do them. Gus at FBD was one of those I beleive I talked to and he was having a set made that were gonna be bolt on...but the price was so outrageous for me that I ended up building my own for $0.

If you or someone you know can weld, you can build your own for much much much less than you could ever buy some. Not sure what exactly the minimum design would be for drag racing, but the steel probably wouldnt be more than $100 and you would have steel left over!

If your drag loops cost over $50 in materials, there's something wrong! Ty's parts will work. Ty, did you buy one loop or two?

Not easily. The local machine shop has 6" u-joint shields programmed into their CNC bender, I guess a bunch of us asked for them or something.

joe how many do we need on are second gen club cabs I know one for front and what two for the back which is one front rear shaft and one rear rear shaft or do we need more I need to get me a set for mine this year even if I don't race quick diesel I don't need drive shafts coming loss and destroying the under side of my truck. and if any have some cheap send me pic's I was thinking of going with Summit racing's loops that are like the jeg's one's but if there is a cheaper but just as good way I would go that route.

NHRA rules are one retention loop located within 6" of the u-joint on each driveshaft. You'd need 3 for a carrier bearing setup. It's not hard to do.

The drag loops I have $35 and about 5 hours of labor. The pulling shields I had $100 in just the metal (that was 5 years ago). Maybe 8 hours of labor in the u-joint shields.

Hey Guys, thanks for all the info. Still up in the air as to what I want to do. Hellmans 3rd gen loops look nice, but like Brandon and TJ said not to hard to fab yourself. Thanks Steve B.
