Oil pressure issue with twins

After I installed my twins, bleeding and burping the coolant, minor test drives around the shop .8 miles after it heated up, at idle the oil press gauge dropped to 0 and the ck gauge light came on

Idk if it's from the primary turbo line being to big or if it's a fluke and the sensor took a crap. But last night it worked perfectly fine. After a hot idle idle drops to 0 the light comes on,

One time I was accelerating to 1300r the gauge dropped to 0 back up to 60-80psi then went down

Can a too large of a feed line drop oil pressure like that? Or is it a sensor?

Here's a pic of the feed line I'm horrible at an fitting lines is this to big?

The feed line does look GIGANTIC but it's not your oil pressure problem. Sounds like your sensor is bad. Be careful force feeding your primary that much oil.

Ok I got a better picture. Is there some type of restricter valve or anything in the oil filter housing? That needs to see a certain pressure?

What size should that line be? I'm not going to be able to get an fittings I'll have to go to my local hydro shop and get regular jic fittings

l had the same thing happen to my truck last year,I put a new oil sensor and it got fixed, you can always put a manual oil gauge by the oil filter to verify that the sensor is bad

I am one who isn't a believer in conquincidences. I parked the truck all week the pressure was great I did twins over the weekend and now when it gets hot it looses pressure. That's why I don't think its a sensor. I looked at my brothers feed line and it looks to be 1/4 inch waaayy smaller than what I have

It looks like -6 it's fine. Put a gauge on it to be sure and throw a sensor in it

It is -6 line. I just found out. He mentioned to me about adjusting the oil pressure? With a screwdriver gas anyone ever herd of that?

I put a t-fitting adaptor in the oil filter housing on the outlet feeding my secondary.

Since you are just testing your sensor for accuracy, why not just swap it into the sensor port?

Wires won't reach from lower drivers side of the block to the oil filter housing

I went out and got a t fitting tomorrow I will ch3ck pressure and read what it actually is.

So say I actually am dropping pressure. Why now after twins? How does that effect pressure

Well I feel alot better. Damn part stores should keep fittings in stock always having to go to a boat supply place is expensive. Someone needs to open a store that stocks oil rated hose silicone hose exhaust pieces , an fittings etc they will make a killing.

Anyways figured it out, the oil sender is bad. I have great oil pressure cold. 70 cold idle, 1400-1600 rpm I have 95. Hot I have 25-30. I turned the truck off let it sit for 2 mins started it back up, snap your finger I had 25 on the gauge and 30seconds later the gauge on the cluster came up I put it in gear the cluster dropped to 0 but the mechanical gauge said 20-25

Glad you figured it out. To me, dodge has always installed lazy oil pressure gauges in these trucks. My 12v takes a good 5-7 seconds to register oil pressure on the dash.

Next time try to find a higher PSI gauge.

Bumped the idle up, fixed it did a oil change and added some Lucas additive I drove it home with the gauge on it. Never dropped in traffic. And I had 25-30 after a 10mile drive home
