Retiring after 30 years
Well fellers, I thought the day would never come but it has flown by, I just submitted my retirement letter after 30 years of service with the U.S. Coast Guard. I will be retired on August 1st but will be leaving the office shortly on 68 days of transitional leave. Just waiting on the okay from HQ, the 75% pension is going to sweet

Scott, have you been to TAP and the VA yet with a copy of your record?
Did that at the 5 month mark, ceremony will be in July then terminal, final is Sept 30th

Jim went to TAPs at the 20 year mark and then did ETAP (excutive level) back in December, I am all set
I applied for, interviewed, received an offer, and accepted a WS position as a civilian employee working for the Coast Guard. I will have a 22 person staff and be in charge of all the maintenance on Coast Guard Island in San Francisco Bay. I start there as soon as my request is approved while on transitional leave, collecting two pay checks for two months
