Thank you. I didn't feel like arguing the point. It should modify all Delphi units, should it not?

They’re not Delphi. They’re Motorola.

There is no “caterpillar engineering software”. Can they be modified with other programs? Yes and that is where I’m leaving it. But some guys think there is a program like EFI Live that lays out all the parameters and maps and they are sadly mistaken. Anyone can modify a file when it’s all laid out in black and white and says “injection timing”. In reality it’s all hex and you have to be able to identify what’s what. Just where in the hell do you think that he file was generated?
You are arguing semantics. Just because you don't have access to the software does not mean it's non-existant.
There will be a software package provided by the manufacturer of the product to allow the OEM to develop it for their needs.
Bosch, Delphi, motorola. It doesn't matter.

There is a program which is much more user friendly than trying to identify and decode hex coding, at least for the A4 and A5's.

I've never messed with anything older than that.

For those of you bored and wanna bs...
I have little control of what’s gonna go in this truck.
However if I was to have any influence, what file would I be best to use?
550 brake saver or 550 heavy haul? Or is there something better?

270-7078 is pretty good. Not sure how it is on fuel but the power is good.

What's your goal mpg wise? A little more power but use it sparingly. The right fls/fts makes a pretty big difference what I found

A better file will definitely help, but without being hands on, its hard to get just right. A lot of variables. How's your egt's? Did they put correct trims in? I'd probly go with the 600 file , and try 0/0 for fls/fts. May give up a little power, but mileage could improve. How's your turbo? Is it factory? In god condition. Like stated, a lot goin on under the hood

We changed trim codes this weekend. It had 5324’s in it. We changed them to 5232’s in it. Took care of my rough idle.

I’ll have to get the numbers off the turbo for you. Condition is good.
You walk into a hill matted, you will for sure see 1k. Hits a decent wall at 1k but slowly climbs.
It has 33, -31 numbers in it right now.

jfaulkner will probly chime in on it. But that all sounds like chit. Not a big fan of default codes on the injectors. Even with that, fls/fts alone would probably help a lot. Kinda worm on the pyro for as basic as it is.

That’s why we are redoing things. You musta missed my posts earlier.
Here’s what we found.

As for the mileage thing, we want a happy medium. I’m 79-79.5 is all. Therefore we technically don’t “need” more power but we all know how that goes. However the mileage it’s getting now isn’t working.
