After thoughts on 2.6 rules.

1 There is no doubt NADM 2.6 is the cream of the crop premier class.

2 Most pullers represented here don't want to see a change.

3 Your average diesel owner isn't going to hook no matter what. There is a WS class for them in NADM and at most fair pulls.

4 This leaves a large group of tweener trucks with aftermarket chargers in limbo. Can't hook WS or stock at fairs.

5 This brings us to unified rules. The average joe isn't going to hook. The daily driver "kid" with a hot street truck isn't going to get embarrassed in front of his woman or friends to pull 2.6 NADM rules.

Why can't we as a group come up with a set of rules that local groups or fairs can use to include the tweeners. These trucks are the next group coming up if we include them.

There are plenty of threads on it. So what will happen is someone will build a truck to whoop on the tweener class, have a fully built 2.8 engine, and put a turbo that is made to the letter of the rule.

Do you have only negative thoughts? Make it must be driven in or something.

I am a negative person. I understand your dilemma, I do. No matter what you do you will have someone put more money and make a better truck. So it must be driven in? That will eliminate the filled block trucks, but not much else. Making it a must be driven in may only increase the cost as folks will have to build the truck to not break, as we know they won't turn down the power.

While on this discussion wasn't this a hot topic with twins a few years, there wasn't a class for street twins, what happened to them?

I know what you mean Kevin. I said that in a thread last year and the responce I got was "Quit being a ***** and pull your truck." I know alot of guys who would rather sit & watch rather than get 50ft put on them by a built puller with a fake plate.

Then we can discuss the safety stuff, I imagine that many of the promoters don't want the daily drivers who leave truck parts on the track or in the stands.
"I can't put that safety stuff on my truck I drive it every day" etc, etc. Which is BS but we have all heard it again and again.

I'm not talking about changing NADM rules in any way. This would be a suggestion to the fairs to gain more participation. The rules below are three years old. The worked well over the last couple years. I'm sure they could use some tweeks.

TURBO SIZE -----HITCH HEIGHT------- WEIGHT
stock turbo--------- 26" --------------8,000 lb
2 x 6 turbo ----------24" -------------8,000 lb
2 x 8 turbo ----------22" --------------7,800 lb

You are 100% correct, there is no way around it. Money rules everything.

Around here the fairs just contact a sanctioned org to put on the pull.

I have been to one brush pull this year, and they didn't tech!

And here also. They use NADM rules and leave a lot of trucks in the parking lot.

Alot of trucks! And when you ask them why they aren't pulling, you hear "I'm not tearing my truck up to pull against purpose built pullers". They want to pull, but don't want to get called a "duck".

The sanctioned pulls aren't over until 11 or midnight now, some even 1 am.
Maybe it is just a regional difference.
They bring in trucks, tractors, something for everyone to see.

MSTPApulling.com is one organization around here.

Kevin, not trying to antagonize you, but if you like these PPP rules so much and they seem to work "well," whatever that means....

Do you, or do you not have the parking lots emptied at these pulls???

Are those rules really doing what you say? Are there 40-truck fields at these events?

Just sayin'. I think the parking lots are full there too, but I haven't seen it myself, so I can't say chit one way or the other.
