Question on timing my second engine of the year?

Hi I've got a few questions for you guys. First off this is what I have, 12v with mahle 286110 pistons flycut .150. The injectors are 155° ih bodies 5x20 single large feed bar set at 300. I have NE injection 13mm pump with .093 lines. The truck is a dedicated 2.6 truck. Soo is there a formula to figure out how much timing I can run before it melts down? I'm at 34° now and it doesn't seem to have the power it should. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Start backing your timing down and see if you get more power. More doesn't = more power.

That's kinda what I was thinking too. I heard that I shouldn't go over 28° with these injectors, but then I was also told I should run at least 36°.

Too much timing will make it pull down on end of track. Any vids to look at?

155° don't need a ton of timing

^^^^^that all depends on spray angle , piston bowl, stroke ,rod length , gasket thickness, and other things.

I know from a few people that are very knowledgable, that making power doesn't always have to mean spraying in the bowl. Can actually make more power outside it.

Rule of thumb is on a stock engine 28* is spraying on top of the piston. I've run a lot more then that and made good power on 286110 pistons. Most like it up around 40*

Not necessarily making more, just because you're outside the bowl. Spraying outside is just accepted so you can run more timing/rpm. Right? Spraying inside is more efficient, but will limit you.

I was not educated on the specifics as to why. I was just told you can make more outside.

Ok well I tried 28° and lost 600rpms. It didn't seem to run as well as it did at 34°. So has anyone ran higher than that with any luck? I'm just don't want to burn another one up.
