steed speed exhaust manifold or stainless

I am looking to upgrade my manifold. I was looking for a little feedback on what people like and or if anyone has had good luck with either of these parts.
Thanks Austin

Stainless hands down. Ports on that thing are freaking huge and I gained a 100-200rpm spoolup on my single 472.

I have had 0 issues with my steed speed manifolds. Ran one on the puller for a season (~25 hooks) and the bolts came out with your hands and it looked like the day we put it on. Sold that manifold and went to a T6 flange model this year with no issues. Since these manifolds are cnc machined and not cast the runners are smooth. The coating included in the price is nice also.
Steed has better prices and better options IMHO. Especially if a guy wants to run an external gate.

The only issue I have had with steed is the time to get a manifold. I had to wait 3-4 weeks for both of mine. That being said there are dealers with manifolds on hand now (puredieselpower.com) , which wasn't the case when I ordered mine.

It is just a guess on my part but I would expect the Steed Speed piece to hold up better over time and is my number one choice until otherwise convinced if/when my ported stocker gives up the ghost.

I was gonna say the same. I don't have a dog in this fight, but I've seen the ports on Steed manifold, and they are pretty big. I don't know what Stainless' manifolds are like, but to say one is superior without having run both is a hard sell.

Just a ported stocker and picked up spool over that.

What are thoughts on the straight flange version of the steed speed piece? Wonder if there is really power to be found in not turning the flange 45* like the stocker and nearly all aftermarket manifolds do.

That's for compounds.

Haisleys have dyno tested various manifolds. I know that the stainless was one of them. I don't know if the steed was among them.

Would it not be more challenging to fit a primary below a turbo which is not raised up via a flipped over 45* flange? This is from their website:
Quote:
Due to popular demand we have added a new style manifold design where the turbo flanges are directed straight out toward the fender to allow for a top mounted wastegate and better flow. This arrangement works well with all turbo styles from T3 to T6.

Shown here is our T6 version. As you can see, the exhaust can flow much smoother into the turbo without the sharp 45 degree angle of the stock manifolds.
Is the idea to keep from having the up turned 45* flange causing interference issues when placing an external gate on compounds? I have not built a set of compounds (yet) but I would guess (quite possibly guessing wrong) that having the turbo come straight out would be more difficult to to allow for placement of the primary?

I have never run a T4 or larger manifold of any other brand other than Steed. The stainless manifolds do look nice but I have never seen one in person to compare.

I have the T6 strait flange manifold a S400 sized charger fits a lot better than my angled T4 ever did. I doubt that fitting a set of twins would be that much harder with a strait manifold than with the angled. The nice thing is Steed sells both options and they are the same price from T3 on up to T6

I really doubt that the manifolds are going to make a huge difference between each other when comparing the same size flanges to each other. Your butt dyno may feel stronger because your wallet is lighter.

Ive never seen a steed speed manifold in person but i can tell you that my stainless diesel manifold has huge ports. Significantly bigger than a stocker. I like how the new stainless manifolds are T6 but include a T4 plate with them.
