Quoted from a post by Garrett at Puredieselpower.com about the Steed Speed manifold HERE

"Engine dyno testing shows a 30HP gain over other "3 piece" manifolds!
This manifold performs as well as the other "3 piece" manifolds with the high-flow center section available from certain vendors, but it provides it with a lower backpressure!
We run this manifold on our 3.0 Puller, Black Ice, with GREAT results!"

Granted he did say over other 3 piece manifolds not the stainless manifold, but he does sell both brands on his website and he chose the steed for his own truck.

I am just trying to put things out there to help with the original question. I have not purchased or used any of the stainless manifolds for myself. I am sure they are good products also.

I would be concerned on the longevity of the Steed Speed and the welds cracking.

Time will tell with the manifolds. They have really only been out for about 2 years. Although they make manifolds for quite a few other applications that I am sure see high egts also.
It isn't like we haven't had issues with cracked manifolds up until now. Plus if a guy could get the metal clean these manifolds would weld easier than cast in the event of an issue.

Good point on the warranty. I didn't even realize they had the warranty as long as you own it.

I love my t4 steedspeed on my 6.7 swap. Fit and finish was excellent. I've yet to see a new stainless one in person, I may end up running one on my puller.

I have ran both Stainless Diesel and Steed Speed. Havent noticed any loss or gain between either manifold. I can say both are WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY better than any of the 3 piece manifolds. I am running the steed speed now because of the external gate flange and the straight t4 flange. I love the straight flange vs the angled. Everything fits great with a single. I also am running twins on my pro street truck with the straight flange, but my big charger is to the side, not under.

IMO I like the heavy stainless for holding the heat in for spool up once up to temp. Flow cold I'm sure would be the same or close. Both great manifolds don't think one will make more power than the other.

I hate rust and I'm a sucker for polished stainless so Johnny gets my vote.

I have not built a set of compounds (yet) but I would guess (quite possibly guessing wrong) that having the turbo come straight out would be more difficult to to allow for placement of the primary?
The three of us in Airdrie have been building a couple sets of small twins for 3rd gens with the straight flange Steed manifold. With an S400 with standard cover, or a GT42, it fits no problem. We were using the source auto mounts, for reference of height. The straight manifold is great for wastegate clearance (used both Tial V44 as well as some china brand 50mm), both trucks have had coolant bypass setups. It keeps the turbo down a bit lower than a flipped second gen manifold, and pushes it out a bit farther. No real clearance issues to to the top turbo placement.

Agreed. Thank you very much for the replies.
Will the steed speed accept one of E.D.'s WG's?

Is the steed speed the same in terms of distance from head towards fender? Trying to figure out if it will be a direct fit for my twins which were built for a 3 piece manifold.
