V10 47rh
I have searched quite a bit here this morning and am looking for a solid answer as to if a V10 47RH will work in a 94 cummins? I know the convertor will not work because of the different stalls but I have read that the governor weights are different between the two transmissions and bellhousing will have to be changed to? I have also read that they are identical and nothing needs changed besides the convertor. I'm just looking for solid info. I am wanting to try to keep this trans as cheap as possible because its just going in a old truck to get back and forth to work. I'm having trouble finding a transmission as it is and this V10 47rh is close and cheap. thanks guys

Converter is looser and the governor weights are steel in lieu of brass, therefore it would shift at higher RPM.
It will bolt up and would run, you'd just need governor springs and valves springs in your 12valve to allow it to run in the common RPM range of a V-10 gasser.

I actually have a converter ordered and billet input shaft to go in. I just didnt want to have to replace the valve body or bellhousing like some people said I would have to do in the other threads I have read.

V-10 trucks have same bell housing, etc. and the only difference is the two items I listed above. V-8 truck based rh transmissions have different bell housing, weaker internal components, lower clutch count in overdrive, etc.

V10 vs Diesel
You will need a diesel shift kit in your v10 valve body also.

What about the oil pump?
Thought I read somewhere that the diesel version has a deeper vane pitch?
Mark.
