0088 code and low on power

2007 stock truck. A couple weeks back truck started losing power and every few days would throw the 0088 code but cel would go away the next day. Even when the truck doesnt have the cel up it is still low on power. I pulled the plug off the fca while running and and you can definitly tell it goes to max rail pressure. thought it was the fca but unsure now. checked all connections and fuel filters are all good. truck has 110,000 miles with no history of any problems. help is appreciated thanks.

0088 is fuel pressure is above max limit. If rail pressure is running higher than it should would this cause low power?

The ECM will limit power if it throws a P0088 code to protect the fuel system. More than likely if the truck is stock the FCA could be acting up.

Check the serpentine belt and crank sensor as well, my belt frayed and messed the crank sensor up and it did the exact same thing you're describing, but I also had a crank sensor signal not present code.
