Exclamation 2012 5.7 gasser to 12v

Found a nice condition 2012 2500 4x4.
Gas motor is toast.

Ive got a 12v motor and nv4500 sitting on my garage.
Not too worried about making the motor and tranny fit
Its making the dash and the a/c work

Anyone have experience making the dash work? Water temp and oil pressure most importantly.

I searched a bit but didnt find anything about thos swap

Thank you in advance

If I was going to tackle a swap like that I'd leave all the 5.7 electronics in there and get a tone wheel that matches the 5.7 so you can send a crank signal to the ECM. For water temp and oil pressure your best bet would be to use the sensors off the 5.7.

Yes. I had planned to do that. Not sure if dash will even operate without the factory engine in place "talking" to the computer

The crank sensor, and maybe a cam sensor should be all the computer needs to see in order to think there's a factory engine in there.

You'll probably need some way to tune out diagnostics for error codes like the throttle body, fuel rail pressure sensor, etc...

Spoke with jeff garmon this morning. He has done this exact same swap!

He said the dash will work but he had to have a/c shop bypass the computer so the ac would work

Also said he could never get the tach to work just went with 1st gen style

As for codes he removed the diode for the check engine light.

All in all sounds fairly straight forward
