Which pin for manual overdrive switch 98' 12 valve with 3 plugs on the firewall

SCHMITTY

Not enough time
3 plugs for the pcm I mean. He has a lockup switch tapped at b11, I looked in my atsg book and tapped into b21 without any luck. I guess I can split the loom open at the Transmision connection but I was trying to keep the wiring up top.

The truck doesn't have overdrive, it has new od switch that lights up the dash but overdrive won't happen. I'm going to try a manual switch again before I drop the pan. I don't think it's worth hooking a gauge up if it doesn't even try to shift into od. It starts off in 2nd gear also sometimes. When I drop the pan I'm going to change out the gov pressure solenoid and transducer, band adjustment, filter, and try to jumper the solenoids.

The connection should be the b21 a orange and black wire. Have you hooked a volt meter to verify that the pcm is commanding overdrive

One would check it at the pcm and trans just to make sure the wire isn’t broken etc. In my times with trans problems I have had the same issue one ended up being the solenoid. Then another the od was fried because of a bad seal.

It was a brown wire so maybe we tapped the wrong one. I'll have his truck for a longer amount of time next time it's at my place.

How are you liking those 5x.018s ? The k31 cleans my 16s up pretty fast I may need to go bigger.

When he brought the truck over I tapped the wire at the pcm and he wired in the new toggle for od next to his lockup switch. We went for a ride and neither worked !

^^^ that was monday. I should probably go over all the wiring for the kid.

To answer your question about the 5x18s. Love them... they do get hot but the spool characteristics are great... making 54psi no smoke on he top and very streetable. But unlike Greg’s truck it does smoke.
