auto vs manual

Hi, will an auto trans pull with the manual transmissions? I'm running a built auto in my work truck I pull a little and it seems the manuals pull a little better. I'm thinking about going to 4.10 gears or maybe 4.56's so I can lock the torque convertor. Which is the better setup in a street diesel class? Thanks

Overall.....Auto is better (if its set up to pull). Just because one has a built tranny does not mean it is set up to pull either.

If I were to do it all over again I'd go with an auto. A properly set up auto will pull with the manuals, and then you can take it to the track and run low 12's high 11's. IMO 4.56's are way to low of a gear.
