I just got everything back from machining. With ARP rods and mains everything was still in spec.

That will be good and a nice chance to save some money. I am hoping those are good for this build. My biggest problem is a head. All of mine have rough valves. That and the $ for an oil cooler element and springs and the engine is pretty close to done

I also had the tooling made to cut the block for cam bushings so that's something I need to tackle this week. Never done one before.

Well I have a few updates. This truck ended up not being as budget friendly as I would have liked. Hoping to have the truck ready by T.S for 10.50 class. I will update with pictures shortly

I made all the tooling and cut the block for cam bushings. Was a bit nerve racking but ended up looking great.

I have no good pictures of the block at the moment. It's at the machine shop getting fire rings cut in the block and head. But this is the basics of the build
The block was decked .009
PTW set at .009 on a set of 286210 Pistons.
Line bored the mains with arp 14mm mains studs
Arp rod bolts in balances and sizes 12v rods.
Crank gear welded ect

Air will be a 485 from Weston and something smaller on the manifold. I have not decided on a manifold charger yet.
I will get more pictures of the head. It's getting a solid 3 angle valve job with back cut valves and has already been cnc ported. It looks gorgeous.
Fuel is a 215 from Seth that's fed by a waterman. The injectors are coming from Weston, undecided on size at the moment. I have a set of 5x.022's but they are 160*.
Trans is a fire punk comp unit with a triple disk from Phil.
I should have more pictures and it should move quickly from here on out.

I am extremely hesitant about running an s300. I don't want to worry about durability. That said if I run one it will probably be a 64mm sxe

Where does yours spool ? That's about the numbers I want. Something 1000-1200. I just want it to respond and be as fast as possible.

Jbayes you need to get a video up on spool and smoke. Also how are those 6x18s for daily driving? Just ordered 7x13s for my build, hoping the hazing at light throttle will be reasonable/nonexistent.
derail off
nice build going on here. Really wanted to know more about the in frame repair, but sounds like you got a solid setup now

Actually the frame repair is one of the few things I still need to complete. Probably be the last thing before I set the engine.

New truck project

I got the head and block back last night. Head looks amazing. For a stock casting it should flow a lot of air.
I will be starting assembly and get everything documented/blueprinted and hopefully have an engine within the next 2 weeks.
The air has been decided. I will run a gt4094r with my 485. Firepunk will be helping with the pipe fab, I simply don't have time.

Fuel cell showed up
ImageUploadedByTapatalk1458396980.147671.jpg
Block is back from getting rings cut. It's now cleaned and all plugs installed and staked. Should have crank in and measured and piston protrusion check by Sunday to see if Pistons need cut.

Head is also done and back from machine need to clean, assemble and lap valves and its good to go.
My biggest hold up at this point is $$ I have 90 % of what I need but this has cost more then anticipated.

Going well. My steed is on its way so I can get the compound done soon. All my clearances checked out This week so engine should be together by end of next week.
Trans is sitting at fire punk waiting on me to snag it. Basically I have 90% of my parts. Just need to assemble.
The cost of this is a bit overwhelming at time. The time In getting the right parts to work together isn't the easiest either.

Checking bearings.
Hope to have fire punk build the cage for it before TS , but that will all depend on funds. That will be my last Project.
