Guess I'll post a small update.

The Camaro is running great. Been to a couple more car shows over the last few weeks and have been using it as my daily driver. 3 weeks ago one of the seals on my coil overs started to leak so I had to send them both out to be gone through since Varishock doesn't sell rebuild kits to the general public. They informed me that since they sat around for so many years being unused the seals dried up a little and needed to be replaced.

Haven't had the time to go to the track and improve my 1/4 mile times since March. Work has been really busy and it's too hard for me to stay out late racing and get up for work at 5:30 in the morning...

If any of you guys read Diesel Power, you should look at the August '14 "Bay Area Brawl" dyno day article. There's a couple shots of the Camaro in there. There's a typo in one of the captions saying it's an LLY, but it's really an LBZ. Regardless, I'm pretty stoked to see it in there.

http://www.dieselpowermag.com/events...nual_dyno_day/

In a couple more months there will hopefully be a full article coming out. Big thanks to JQmile for taking the time to make it happen.

Still no mileage calculations. I still have to hook up the speedo, but I would bet on the open highway it's capable of at least high 20's.

Due to me having to pay for my wedding coming up in September, I'm a tight ass with money so some things with the Camaro are on hold, but I'm still having a lot of fun with it and surprising the hell out of a lot of people. I did some nasty rolling burnouts leaving the car shows and made some people believe in what modern diesels can do.

I may just have to break down and buy a copy of DPMag for your article. You deserve the kudos.

Thanks Tom. Jason told me either Diesel Power or Diesel World was going to publish it. I guess we'll find out soon enough.

I thought the brides family paid for that? Or is that just old school? Jump the broom and say you are married, it's a lot cheaper

We're going drag racing for my bachelor party this Sunday at Sonoma Raceway. Pics and videos to follow...

Also, any of you who read or have a subscription to Diesel World, the Camaro has a full feature in the October 2014 issue

Anybody and everybody who wants to come out is welcome to. It's going to be a relatively small group of us friends. I'm only looking to improve on my last drag strip passes, which shouldn't be too hard, and my buddies are bringing their cars and trucks out for some fun. Can't wait to see who's going to break

I was able to take a whole second off my et at the strip on Sunday. Best time of 12.009 and a best mph of 119.14. I need to work on getting my launches down pat. Used to the transbrake on every pass and it helped quite a bit, but I was leaving pretty soft every pass with 2.0 60'. I'm positive it has a mid 11 second pass in it the way it is, I just need to launch waaaay harder.

My 119 mph pass was a 12.1 1/4 mile time slip, and my 12.009 was at 117 mph. Everyone else in my class didn't have nearly as much speed as me. Is my mph pretty high for that kind of et?

Working on getting pics and vids together. My camera went dead at the track so I wasn't able to have anyone film me...

Not sure what your car weighs I'll guess 3200. 119 mph should put you mid to low 11.s Have a buddy with a small block chevy 355 in a 57 Stude PU that weighs 3200 and runs around 11.0 at 120 mhp. This is a pretty good calculator for drag racing. http://www.wallaceracing.com/etcalc.php It says if your car weighs 3200 lbs and runs 119 your 60 ft should be mid 1.5's and ET around 11.1. I think that is reasonable.

You can see how soft my launch is still. Also had a bad reaction time and smaller burnout than previous passes of the day.

I'd bet it's closer to 3900ish. 3200 is small block Camaro territory with very little options. Get a chunky diesel in there with a big trans backing it and 3200 is a distant memory.

Car looks great OP. Looking forward to hearing more progress.

If only. My Z traps 128 and only runs 11.2's. Sixty foot with it is horrid.

Going to be headed to to the Total Performance Diesel dyno day on March 14th and run the Camaro on the rollers. Currently running the ppe programmer on level 7, so we shall see what it now makes.

Also planning on attending the nhrda season opener in bakersfield the following weekend. I think I will be able to get into the 11s very easily. Wish me luck...

I'd say VERY easily with that trap and your big tires.
