What is the CR of this engine? And how do you know it's double what a blown alcohol engine would be?

We ran basically the same setup in top alcohol dragster, then ran afuel in the same class (using nitro without a blower) with the same block and rods at a max of 6000 rpm. The nitro motors made huge torque right of idle and we were able to get more life out of the rods, pistons and cranks, the rpm was alot harder on parts life. That diesel will not even be close to the cyl pressure or torque of nitro.

double was a bad selection. I want to say most blower engines are 9-11 this I would think would be around 14 or more. I just don't think the parts are going to be heavy enough.

The same as all other common rail engines. The reasons have been beat to death in other threads, so no reason to do it again in this thread, but it still seems to be a mystery to most.

Exactly lol

Nobody would dumb the time and money into a project like this truck if they were completely shooting in the dark. Last I checked they built a race truck, so making huge power with a CR engine was not their objective.

Well here's an update....the engines in the truck and Jamie & Brian are heading up to Calgary first thing tomorrow morning to finish up some wiring and final touches!!!! Hoping for a fire up this weekend!!!! A big thanks to Curtis and his crew from extreme engine development for their hard work and countless hours!!

When asked about the hold ups and snags he is facing finishing this project.

Bending fuel lines was a ***** , neutral safety took some head scratching. We are using ford fuel rails and we had to build adapters to fit up to d-max lines.

Seen the startup video of this thing..D*** the throttle response! Assuming it hadn't seen the asphalt yet since the threads about it are dead for the time being? Anyone know updates on it?

Holy sweet diesel fuel....they'll either find a way to ban itvwith the rule book or everybody else will have to play catch up.
