Understood. I have an old regular cab first gen. I see advantages to having a longer wheelbase.

Sure would be nice if I could stretch it out to max instead of buying a crew cab.

It allows your hitch to be something like 30% of your wheelbase. Some say it evens out the wheelbase advantage.

Not in the diesel classes with ppl. Other organizaions use it.
